Back in the 1990s, the Schneider family transformed rolling farmland into what became Timber Ridge RV & Recreation Resort, creating Grand Traverse County's most welcoming golf destination. Their 18-hole championship course winds through mature hardwoods and open meadows, challenging seasoned players while remaining forgiving for beginners. Three generations of families return here each summer, drawn by reasonable green fees and a clubhouse that still serves homemade pie. The course superintendent, a Michigan State grad who's been here fifteen years, maintains conditions that rival pricier Traverse City courses without the pretension.
